Role Description: Mach 5 aircraft present an opportunity to leverage the dual-use nature of reusable high-speed flight for both commercial and government customers. This position is critical to leveraging our in-house technology to solve relevant government problems in national security and aeronautics. This position demands grit, perseverance, and authenticity over the full sales lifecycle to build new relationships with customers, understand their current and future needs as well as some they might not yet know they have, and close the deal.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the outcome of the full sales lifecycle from long term positioning through post-award
  • Support product roadmapping and technology strategy development
  • Develop and manage relationships with Government customers
  • Develop and manage external teaming relationships
  • Grow company recognition and reputation with Government customers
  • Lead development of marketing and communications collateral in support of Government sales
  • Lead proposal efforts including opportunity sourcing, capture strategy, proposal development, submission, and post-selection
  • Coordinate internal resources in support of Government sales efforts
  • Manage team of outside consultants and resources
  • Travel as needed in support of sales activities

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in Government-focused sales or business development
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of complex products
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • 5+ years working on Government programs
  • Strong interpersonal relationships throughout the US Government
  • Track record of successful new customer development driving rapid, sustainable revenue growth from high-value, complex products
  • Experience within early-stage hardware-focused technology companies
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of government acquisition processes, regulations, and budget cycles
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations and contract types
    • FAR, DFAR, OTA, SAA, etc.
  • Holds an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Preferably located in DC but not a requirement; must be willing to travel
