Role Description: At Hermeus, you’ll have the opportunity to drive the design of the thermal management system architecture of high-speed (hypersonic) point-to-point vehicles. You’ll own thermal hardware design through manufacturing, aerothermal load inputs, material properties, and thermal systems & subsystem requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement thermal management system and thermal protection systems
• Own selection of hardware used for thermal management systems
• Responsible for providing thermal environments to supporting technical teams

• Hands-on manufacturing process development, including tools or fixtures required to manufacture and integrate the flight thermal hardware
• Use FEM software to perform the thermal and structural analysis
• Generate aerothermal loads database for structural design
• Create and execute test plans for thermal system V&V

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
• 3+ years of experience prototyping, designing, and building hardware
• Fundamental knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes
• Expertise in heat transfer

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
• Experience working in high temperature environments
• OnShape (or other CAD programs)
• Experience designing or working CMC’s
