Role Description:

As the IT Lead at Hermeus, you’ll be responsible for developing a scalable network and infrastructure. In addition to managing Windows and Linux-based systems you will also oversee and implement security policies as we transition into classified information areas.


  • Continuously design, refine, and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity and minimize business disruption
  • Implement network security best practices, network security tools, and perform network audits as necessary
  • Stay up to date on and implement DoD IT requirements
  • Lead procurement, set-up and refresh hardware and software for all employees and new hires
  • Capacity planning to predict growth and provide recommendations
  • Identify and assess risks - assist in planning and implementation to reduce, remove, or mitigate risk
  • Manage IT issues and service requests to resolution across the entire IT infrastructure stack, including PCs, laptops, servers, virtualization, storage, networks, file sharing, remote access, and security tools
  • Configure servers, routing, switching, wireless connectivity, performance monitoring, and network management
  • Ensure budgets are accurate and maintained to support financial reporting requirements
  • Evaluate new software that would change how we run our infrastructure

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree
  • 5+ years of experience managing and scaling an infrastructure environment
  • Experience managing IT systems for classified information
  • Experience supporting systems management, monitoring, and deployment technologies
  • Knowledge of networking technologies such as DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and wireless networks
  • Experience with Enterprise Windows, Linux, Git (or other version control tools)

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience with cloud-based services
  • Experience with database and reporting technologies such as MS SQL, Power BI, MySQL, Tableau, etc
  • Experience with high-performance computing infrastructure
